In the world of basketball, there's a new king in town, or should we say a "prince" – Bronny James, the son of the legendary LeBron James.

Let's be honest, Bronny has overcome some terrifying health issues, which most likely played a part in his lacklustre college career at USC, but since his returned the media coverage around him has been more intense than some freaky European bondage fetish. Coming into the NBA as the 2nd round, 55th overall pick, Bronny found his way into the league, but was it on his own? Bronny averaged 4.8 PPG, 2.8 RPG, and 2.1 APG during his NCAA basketball run, a stat line you'd see from a WNBA game. We all know LeBron James wanted to play alongside his son before he reached retirement, and as all know, is the puppet master pulling all the strings for whatever franchise he resides on behind closed doors. Sure, you can take a shot on the family genes and the name, but you can't realistically tell me Bronny was drafted strictly off talent, and not because his father demanded it from the shadows like some leader of a vampire cult. What's even more humorous, is the Lakers 17th pick, Dalton Knecht $18.4 million over four years while Bronny will make a wild 7.9 million over four years, as a mid, second-round pick. Not only did LeBron get his son drafted into the league, he also somehow managed to get him paid. At the rate LeBron is working for his son, it wouldn't surprise me if we saw "Space Jam 3" start production soon with his son in the lead role.

With the Summer League finally on its way, Bronny James stepped on the court for his first league game, and it went about as you'd expect if you've followed his career. JJ Redick, new coach of the LA Lakers, preached in a recent interview that "Bronny has earned this" but we're not sure if that's fully the case. In his Summer League debut, Bronny scored 4 points with 2 rebounds and 2 assists with a steal in just under 22 minutes. Was this 7.9 million dollars well spent? I guess only time will tell. To be fair, it's got to be hard keeping a straight mind when your father is going to be on your ass 24/7. Imaging trying to impress some girls, and your dad is over your shoulder every move? Going to look for a pass and saying "LeDaddy, I'm open!". It's got to take a toll on you at some point. Nonetheless, the media is going to be in a craze all season long over this situation, so we may as well make the best of it while we can. At the end of the day, Bronny James isn’t just following in his dad’s footsteps; he’s creating his own path, and whether we love or hate LeBron James, will give his son some benefit of the doubt, at least for now.
